Order ED, I-T probe into ‘RR tax’, KCR dares Modi at Kothagudem poll rally

HYDERABAD: BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to order an enquiry by the Enforcement Directorate and income tax department against chief minister A Revanth Reddy for the charges that he had levelled against him.

“The PM himself has spoken about collection of ‘RR tax’. What prevents him from getting an enquiry done,” he asked at an election rally in Kothagudem town in Bhadradri Kothagudem district on Tuesday.

KCR campaigned for BRS candidate from Khammam, Nama Nageswara Rao, and Mahabubabad candidate Maloth Kavitha during the rally. He said only if the BRS candidates were elected, they would be able to fight for the interests of the state.

Referring to the election speech by Modi in Andole on collection of RR tax in the state, KCR said if Modi knew so much, he should initiate action by the ED and I-T department.

“However, the reality is ‘bade bhai’ (‘big brother’ Modi) and ‘chote bhai’ (‘younger brother’ Revanth) have an understanding. The BJP and Congress have an understanding with each other. Reject both the parties so that secularism in the country can be preserved,” KCR said.

KCR said the Congress govt in the state had failed to deliver on its promises and did not deserve a vote.

Meanwhile, Former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said that he alone was interested in the welfare of Singareni employees as he demonstrated when he was in power. “Narendra Modi wanted me to buy coal from Australia, which was imported by Adani. I refused. I said when there is so much coal in Singareni, why should we buy it from Adani. I did not give in to his demand,” he said.
