Kishan seeks CM’s intervention for Amberpet flyover road works
Hyderabad: Union coal minister G Kishan Reddy has written to chief minister A Revanth Reddy, seeking immediate intervention to complete the pending land acquisition required for the service road beneath the 1.5 km, four-lane Amberpet crossroads flyover on National Highway-163 (earlier NH-202), built at a cost of 265 crore. In his letter, Kishan said the flyover was constructed by the ministry of road transport and highways to ease congestion and reduce travel time in Hyderabad. The flyover was inaugurated on May 5, 2025, by Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari.
He said although the flyover has been opened to traffic, the service road underneath remains incomplete as the required land acquisition has not been finalised, causing inconvenience to commuters along the corridor. The project was originally sanctioned in 2018.Kishan said that the issue had earlier been raised with former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and had also been brought to Revanth's notice on several occasions. He added that Gadkari had repeatedly taken up the matter with state authorities. The Union minister said he had also pursued it with the GHMC commissioner and other officials, but the issue remains unresolved. He pointed out that 2.54 crore has already been paid as compensation for land acquisition, yet bottlenecks continue to delay the completion of the service road. Reddy urged the chief minister to direct the GHMC and the state roads and buildings department to resolve the pending issues and ensure early completion of the works.
