HYDERABAD: Arvind Kejriwal’s dramatic comeback in Delhi has not just decimated his rival parties but has also given ‘Crazywala’ a final burial. The film announced soon after the AAP leader quit as Delhi chief minister last February was canned for reasons unknown, and now with the political tables turning around, it has no hope of a revival.The film was meant to take a dig at Kejriwal as he quit in haste. Telugu film comedian MS Narayana, who was to play Kejriwal, had died recently. Mohana Prasad, who was debuting as director after making short films, had announced it would be a landmark political movie.A year down the line, there is no talk whatsoever about the movie. “When they did the photoshoot for the film, my father’s get-up looked much like Kejriwal. It would have been good if the movie had been made but it hardly made progress thereafter,” Narayana’s daughter Shashi Kiran said. Shashi Kiran is also a film director who recently directed the film 'Saheba Subramanyam’.Shashi Kiran said the film script sounded good and her father had no second thoughts about accepting it. “The movie definitely would have made sense if it had been made then,” she said.When the film was launched, the director also claimed that they had taken prior permission from AAP as the film was intended to make voters aware of their right to vote.
Director Mohana Prasad also said if it was necessary, he would also show the film to Kejriwal for his approval.Producer D Rama Naidu had sounded the clap for the film. But, beyond that and due to unknown reasons, the film was put on the backburner.Telugu film comedian MS Narayana, who was to play Kejriwal, passed away recently. The film was canned for unknown reasons.
