3,354 government schools get digital classrooms

minister K Taraka Rama Rao. The ministers initiated the programme at a government school in Banjara Hills.

The digital classrooms will provide students with content through screen projection systems, read a release issued by the government. The highlights of the launch included provision of hard disks, projectors and antennas, besides using means like YouTube and Mana TV to conduct classroom training sessions for a larger audience. “Telangana government will use ICT (

) and modern technologies to augment classroom teaching in government-run schools,” said Srihari during the launch. The government aims to cover more schools in the future.

Speaking on the initiative, Suman Reddy, managing director of Pegasystems India, said, “Leveraging the power of the internet and television to reach vast audiences across the state is bound to have long-term benefits. These are the initiatives that will help realize the 'Digital India' vision, strongly aimed at creating a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy.”
