2 held for murder of Hyderabad man in UK
HYDERABAD: Two persons have been arrested in connection with the killings of a 65-year-old Indian citizen and another person on September 30 in Leeds, UK. Mohd Khaja Rayeees Uddin from Hyderabad and the other victim were stabbed to death in the same incident.
"We got to know about the incident. The UK police are in touch with us," Mohd Ahmed Ali, brother-in-law of the deceased told TOI on Monday.
MBT leader and social worker Amjed Ullah Khan said that Hyderabadi London Association president Mohd Mujeeb, who got to know about the incident informed him about it.
Mohd Khaja Rayees Uddin was reported to have gone to the UK in 2011. His wife lives in Hyderabad. The family said it is yet to get full details about what led to the murder. Mohd Ahmed Ali said they have asked the Hyderabadi community and police to perform the last rites of the deceased in the UK.
Amjed Ullah Khan said that from information that he recieved from the Hyderabadi community in the UK, Rayees Uddin and another person, an Afghan national, were stabbed to death by an Ugandan. The perpetrator also suffered injuries on his hands in the scuffle.
"The accused, 46, and another 48-year-old man have been arrested in the case," West Yorkshire police said.
The police did not give out any more details pertaining to the crime and said this case was under investigation.
