Pic: A spectators' gallery being installed at Bogarves Circle to view grand procession of Shivaji JayantiBelagavi: The city administration has made preparations for Shivaji Jayanti procession scheduled for Tuesday, which will commence at 6pm from Nargundkar Bhave Chowk. It will pass through Nargundkar Bhave Chowk, Maruti Gali, Hutatma Chowk, Ramdev Gali, Samadevi Gali, Yandekhoot, College Road, Bogarves and Kirloskar Road via Ramalingkhind Gali, Tilak Chowk, Hemukalani Chowk, Shani Mandir and Kapileshwar Flyover, before culminating near Kapileshwar Temple.The procession, depicting the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is one of the region's main cultural spectacles, drawing lakhs of spectators each year from Belagavi and neighbouring areas. More than 70 tableaux are expected to participate.Traditional martial performances, including lathimela, lezim, dhal-talvar, dandpatta and zhanjpathak, will add to the grandeur of the procession.Central Public Shiv Jayanti Mandal president Ankush Kesarkar and other officebearers have appealed to public representatives, dignitaries from social, educational and cooperative sectors, members of various mandals and citizens to participate in large numbers. To facilitate public viewing, the Belagavi City Corporation has installed a dedicated spectator gallery at Dharmaveer Sambhaji Maharaj Chowk.
