Hubballi: Regional airline FLY91 started its services on three new routes Friday, marking its footprints across key regional corridors. The new routes are Solapur-Hyderabad, Hubballi-Hyderabad and Hubballi-Bengaluru.
Gautam Salaskar, director, inflight services and ground operations, FLY91, lit the ceremonial lamp at Hubballi Airport ahead of the regional airline's inaugural flight from Hubballi to Bengaluru.
Arun DV, assistant commissioner, CASO (APSU); Sanjeev Kumar, ATC in-charge; and Rupesh Kumar, airport director, were also present at the ceremony.
Hubballi, a prominent trade, education and industrial hub in North Karnataka, plays a critical role in driving regional economic activity. Improved air connectivity to cities such as Hyderabad and Bengaluru is expected to further support business travel, educational access and industrial linkages, while offering passengers a safe, reliable and convenient alternative to surface transport, guests recalled.
In a statement, Manoj Chacko, the managing director and CEO of FLY91, said the addition of Hubballi to its routes reinforces the airline's focus on strengthening regional connectivity.
"Hubballi is our airline's 12th domestic destination after just two years of operations, reflecting our commitment to connecting underserved destinations in the country," Chacko added.
