Jarkiholi's film turns spotlight on netas

Jarkiholi

, a former minister known for his anti-superstition campaign, has triggered curiosity across the state.

Auditions for the cast will be held from Sunday at Belagavi and later at Kalburgi, Mysuru and Bengaluru. He released posters of the movie recently in Belagavi and said actors who resemble popular political personalities and can portray them convincingly stand a good chance of being picked.The movie turns the spotlight on political events across the country . It'll also focus on the increasing gap between the rich and the poor and the confrontation of farmers with governments.

“I've seen a lot of ups and downs in my political career of 30 years. The movie is an effort to tell untold stories of Indian politics in a humorous way. My ministership was snatched away recently but I'm not one to sit silent without doing any work. I'm stepping into movie production in my second innings,“ Jarkiholi said.The movie, scripted by Jarkiholi himself and being direct ed by Nagendra Magadi, is being made under the Buddha Cine Combines banner. and camerawork by Ramesh Babu. The movie is scheduled for release next June.

Many politicians are wondering how a leader of a political party which has a high command culture can produce such a movie. There are rumours that the Congress high command is the target as Jarkiholi was embarrassed after he was dropped from the cabinet. He's reportedly close to joining the JD(S).

A Congress leader said it's a political strategy of the Jarkiholi brothers to ensure that they're in the good books of all parties so that at least one of them is always a minister at any given point of time.
