Koppal: Morning fog/smog, which is a rare phenomenon in Koppal district in summer, is being witnessed in the district for the past 2-3 days. Many netizens have shared its photos and videos on their social media handles. Meanwhile, many of them also suspected whether it was the result of pollution created by factories. Husain Pasha, a writer, said people are worried that when the maximum temperature reached 34 degrees Celsius in Koppal, morning fog gave a winter-like feel. ‘The Air Quality Index reached 155, which is a dangerous development as locals may face health issues like asthma,' he rued. Due to fog, vehicle drivers are facing visibility issues in the city and on highways, as also morning walkers. Manjunath Gondbal, an activist opposing factories, said: ‘The thick layer of pollution seems to have created by factories. The district administration should conduct a detailed study in the interest of citizens,' he said
