Haveri district to conduct first phase of census from April 1 to May 15

The information provided by the public will remain confidential, and no benefits will be reduced. Therefore, the public should provide accurate information without paying attention to any rumours, said deputy commissioner and chief census officer Vijay Mahantesh Danammanavar.On Tuesday, he told reporters that the population and the economic and social conditions of people are very important for the implementation of various govt schemes. He urged the public to participate in the census voluntarily for the development of the country.

The DC explained that a census is an official, complete count of every family, individual and their demographic, economic and social information in a country at a specific time. For the first time in the history of the Indian census, it is being conducted comprehensively using mobile apps and digital methods. "In Karnataka, the first phase (house listing and housing census) will take place from April 1 to May 15. The second phase (population count) will occur from Feb 2027 to March 1, 2027," DC informed.
He further said the self-enumeration of the first phase of house listing and housing census can be done through the link https://se.census.gov.in from April 1 to 15. A total of 3,218 enumerators, including 2,413 rural and 806 urban, and 571 supervisors, including 425 rural and 146 urban, were appointed, the DC added.ZP CEO Ruchi Bindal, ADC Nagaraj L, ASP Lakshman Shirakol and others were present at the press conference.
