BCC filling potholes, cleaning drains ahead of rains
Belagavi: In view of the forecast of the rainy season, Belagavi City Corporation (BCC) has taken the initiative to close potholes and clean drains in Belagavi city. In the wake of the flood of complaints from the citizens of Belagavi city, the BCC Commissioner personally stepped into the fray. A team of officers led by BCC commissioner Kartik M visited the city on Friday and inspected potholes and drains, and gave necessary suggestions for action.
BCC commissioner also instructed the officers to carry out cleanliness programmes, including removing silt from drains and filling potholes. In the BCC council meeting, the corporators of various wards were also advised to take action in advance to avoid problems that may arise during the rainy season.
Officials have been directed to remove trees that are about to fall, reconnect and repair dangerous electricity wires, and clean drains to facilitate the smooth flow of water. It was instructed to commence the work on Friday itself.
