Dharwad: Members of the Muslim community offered prayers in large numbers and exchanged greetings on the occasion of Bakrid here on Thursday. Thousands of Muslims gathered at the Idgah Maidan near the sub jail here in the morning and offered namaz. The office bearers of Anjuman-E-Islam and others participated in the mass prayer. Muslims celebrate the second most auspicious Islamic festival Eid Al-Adha, also known as Eid-ul-Zuha, Bakra-Eid. The day is observed on the 10th day of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah, which is the twelfth and final month in the Hijri calendar. On this auspicious day, Muslims come together and mark the day through acts of worship, charity and feasting with loved ones.
