8 held in Hannikeru murder case

Belagavi: SP K Ramarajan said that eight accused were arrested in connection with the murder of a man in Hannikeri village of Bailhongal taluk.The incident occurred on March 31, when Sanganagouda Basanagouda Patil, 50, was allegedly beaten to death with deadly weapons following an old dispute. The arrests were made by Nesargi police, who are continuing further investigation into the case. The accused are Demappa, Manjunath, Rudrappa, Vijay, Surappa, Nagaraj, Basavantappa of the Balakannavar family, and Siddappa Sngadi. Police said that there had been a fight between the victim and the accused for the past few years. This was the reason for the murder at the Siddeshwar fair. Nesargi police, who took over the investigation, said the accused have been arrested and further investigation was underway.
