3 externed from Belagavi for gambling, peddling

Belagavi: In a crackdown on repeat offenders, Belagavi police have externed three individuals, involved in gambling and ganja-related cases, from the district to maintain public order.Those externed are Sarfaraj Shabbirahmed Shaikh of Shahapur, Vinayak Prakash Kollapuri of Ayodhya Nagar in Tilakwadi, and Sagar Pandurang Salagude of Basavangalli, Hosur, Shahapur.According to police, the action was taken as the activities of the habitual offenders were disturbing public peace.Police records show that Sarfaraj is involved in 16 cases related to matka and other offences across various police stations. Vinayak faces five cases linked to ganja sale and related crimes, while Sagar has six cases registered against him for matka and other criminal activities.Officials said externment orders were issued for a period of five months, during which the trio is directed to reside in Vijayapura, Karwar and Yadgir.
