Mizoram’s BJP vice-prez resigns

AIZAWL: Mizoram BJP unit vice-president Rev Dr LR Colney resigned from his position as well as that of the president of the membership drive department and convenor of the political training department, BJP sources said on Friday.

also resigned as one of the primary members of the saffron party where he had undergone training in different subjects during the national level political training courses.

Sources close to Rev Colney said that he joined politics to play an active part in the development of the state sans corruption through the BJP, but was extremely disillusioned by the top leadership of the state BJP unit.

A theologian and a pastor, he completed his doctoral degree in Biblical Studies from International Theological Seminary, Florida in the US and was given ordination title by All India Pastors’ Conference in 2006. Rev Colney joined the BJP in 2019, following which he was appointed as the state secretary of the party.
