Mizoram CM completes self-enumeration drive for census
Aizawl: CM Lalduhoma successfully completed his self-enumeration under Phase-I (house listing and housing census) of Census 2027 at his official residence at 6.30am on Wednesday, marking the commencement of the nationwide census exercise.The self-enumeration was carried out through the newly introduced online portal and was facilitated by officials from the Aizawl Municipal Corporation, general administration department, and the directorate of census operations.

The initiative highlights a significant step towards promoting digital participation and enhancing public awareness.The Census 2027 will be conducted in two phases. The first phase — house listing and housing census — commenced on April 1, 2026, while the second phase, population enumeration, is scheduled for Feb 2027. Notably, this will be the first digital census, introducing the option of self-enumeration for citizens.The self-enumeration window will remain open from April 1 to April 15, 2026, followed by the house listing and housing census from April 16 to May 15, 2026, across Mizoram.
