Manipur HSLC exam results: Pass rate stands at 88.74%
Imphal: The results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2026, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM), were declared on Friday. The overall pass percentage was recorded at 88.74%.
According to report from BOSEM, the overall pass percentage has declined compared to last year. In 2025, the overall pass percentage stood at 91.37%.
Out of the total 36,579 students who appeared in the exam, 32,459 passed. Male candidates recorded a pass rate of 88.90%, with 16,253 students passing out of 18,283 examinees. Female candidates registered a pass percentage of 88.58%, with 16,206 passing out of 18,296 who appeared.
Private schools once again outperformed other categories, with a pass percentage of 92.34%. Out of 26,970 students from private schools who appeared for the exam, 24,903 passed. Govt schools recorded a pass percentage of 77.63% with 6,308 students passing out of 8,126 candidates. Aided schools registered an 84.15% pass rate, with 1,248 successful candidates out of 1,483 examinees.
District-wise, Chandel emerged as the best performing district with a pass percentage of 97.38%, followed by Thoubal at 96.30% and Noney at 95.42%. Jiribam recorded the lowest pass percentage at 74.59%.
As many as 390 internally displaced candidates appeared in the HSLC exam, of whom 327 passed, recording a pass percentage of 83.85%. Thoubal, Jiribam and Kangpokpi districts recorded a 100% pass rate among IDP candidates.
