GU hosts Assam inter-university badminton tourney
Guwahati: Gauhati University, in association with the department of sports and youth welfare, govt of Assam, organised the All Assam Inter-University Badminton Tournament 2026 on May 8 and 9 on the university campus.
The tournament was formally inaugurated by Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta, vice-chancellor of Gauhati University.
In the men’s category, Cotton University emerged champion, while GU finished as the first runner-up and Dibrugarh University as the second runner-up.
In the women’s category, Royal Global University won the championship, followed by Assam down town University as the first runner-up.
