Dimapur: The fast track special court (POCSO), Dimapur, has sentenced an accused to life imprisonment for the murder of a 17-year-old girl in 2020.
On March 2, Special Judge Khesheli Chishi found the evidence against the accused, Yilobemo Mozhui, compelling and awarded him life imprisonment for the heinous crime.
In a release, Dimapur police said they had secured the conviction and sentencing of the accused in the brutal murder case of the minor, marking a significant milestone in the pursuit of justice.
The incident dates back to Oct 22, 2020, when the victim’s body was discovered at a school. Following the report, the Women Police Station, Dimapur, registered a case and initiated investigation.
