Bomb explodes near Imphal airport cargo terminal

IMPHAL: A bomb, suspected to be a grenade, exploded at a crematorium located between the entrance of the Imphal airport cargo terminal and a camp of the Territorial Army in Imphal at 11.55am on Sunday.No casualties were reported.The blast occurred amid heightened security measures in view of the three years completion of the Manipur conflict, which began on May 3, 2023.Meanwhile, security forces on Saturday recovered an IED weighing approximately 9kg, one 12 Bore rifle and five live rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition from Henjang village area under Thoubal Dam-PS in Imphal East district.
