Assam BJP youth wing rolls out 'Modir Bondhu' campaign to boost digital outreach

Guwahati: Youth wing of BJP — Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) — launched a digital campaign titled “Modir Bondhu” (Friend of Modi) on Friday, with the objective of taking the works and achievements of PM Narendra Modi to people of all sections of society.

The campaign was formally inaugurated by Assam BJP state president Dilip Saikia at the party’s state headquarters in Guwahati, in the presence of over a thousand youths associated with various digital platforms.


National election in charge Baijayant Jay Panda, MP Bansuri Swaraj, and Darshana Jardosh were present at the programme.

“This is a digital movement to take the progress and development that took place under the leadership of PM Modi in the centre and CM Himanta Biswa Sarma in the state to the people,” Saikia said.

“We are glad that the youths who attended the inauguration programme are witness to Assam’s ongoing journey of development. Their presence will enable them to share accurate information about regional progress as well as the state’s overall growth through social media,” he added.

Meanwhile, BJYM state president Rakesh Das said the “Modir Bondhu” initiative aims to cover all regions of Assam. He added that through this programme, lakhs of digitally connected youths will extensively promote on social media the developmental works undertaken by both the Central and state govts.

Meanwhile, on the Jan Ashirwad Yatra by the BJP, which will begin on Saturday, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said the yatra will be very important for the party, during which members will seek blessings from the people of all segments of society so that the party can form govt for a third consecutive term.

BJP spokesperson Jayanta Kumar Goswami said the objective of the yatra is to establish direct contact with people across every region of Assam.

“With a plan to connect with one lakh people daily, the party has already announced an eight-day initial phase of the programme, which will continue until March 9,” Goswami said.

He added that while the BJP has unitedly embarked on its election campaign with organizational strength, the Congress and other opposition parties are busy fighting among themselves over alliance issues.
