Asharikandi’s terracotta to be featured in ’26 R-Day parade
Dhubri: After being deprived of any tableau from Assam in the parade on the Republic Day in New Delhi in 2025, terracotta of Asharikandi in Dhubri district will be featured in the parade in 2026.The tableau of terracotta will showcase how men and women artisans from the Asharikandi cluster of villages have become self-reliant under Atmanirbhar Bharat by making clay dolls with their hands, while also preserving one of Assam’s rich cultural heritages.
