Arunachal twin murder prime accused arrested from Tinsukia
Itanagar: The prime accused in a twin murder case has been arrested by police in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district, an official said.On March 5, a double murder case was registered at Kamlao under Manmao Police Station under Section 103 (1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.The accused, identified as Madan Karmakar, fled after killing a father-daughter duo, Changlang SP Kirli Padu said on Thursday.According to police, the accused killed Bablu Kol (42) and his seven-year-old daughter, Rishita Kol, on March 4 night and fled to Assam. Karmakar and Kol were working as labourers in New Kamlao village and were known to each other, the SP said. Police traced the accused in Assam’s Tinsukia district, he said. On Wednesday, a police team led by Manmao PS officer in-charge inspector Wangpol Wangsa with assistance from 4 Assam Rifles and Assam police, conducted a raid and nabbed the accused. The accused is now in police custody in Arunachal Pradesh. The SP said police are investigating the intent behind the murder.
