Arunachal cops rescue 7 women in trafficking bust, 2 accused held
Itanagar: In a crackdown on human trafficking, Arunachal Pradesh Police have rescued seven women from two establishments and arrested two accused in Banderdewa near here on Friday, an official said.Itanagar Capital Region Naharlagun superintendent of police Nyelam Nega said on Saturday that police teams from Banderdewa Police Station, led by Naharlagun SDPO Rishi Longdo, rescued the women from NK Lodge and Lovely Lodging in Banderdewa.The SP said the arrested individuals are Fardaus Ahmed (35) and Moina Das (34), both residents of Assam.He said the women, primarily from Assam and hailing from broken households and impoverished backgrounds, were being exploited for sex work.
