GURUGRAM: The Special Investigation Team (SIT), formed to probe the shootout in

Arcadia

Market in sector 51 of Gurugram in which the personal security officer (SPO) of additional session judge

Krishan Kant

shot his wife (Ritu) and son (Dhruv), blamed instant provocation as motive of the murder.

The wife of the judge succumbed to her injuries on Sunday, while Dhruv is still critical and under treatment at a private hospital.

SIT head DCP Sulochana Gajraj blamed the "short-tempered nature" of the SPO for the incident. According to the SIT, the judge’s son and wife had gone for some work along with the SPO to Arcadia Market on Saturday. When they returned from the market, the SPO was not present near the vehicle. First they tried to trace him and then they called him.

“When the SPO reached the spot, he was pulled up for his absence and Dhruv asked him to hand over the key. This irked the SPO and he started beating Dhruv. When the judge’s wife (Ritu) intervened, the SPO pulled out his service

revolver

and shot at the mother and son,” said DCP (crime) Sumit

Kuhar

, adding that the SPO also tried to destroy the evidence by making an attempt to put injured Dhruv into car but failed and he fled the scene with car.

The SIT said the SPO after committing the crime called judge, his wife and cousin brother and informed them about the incident. “He made few calls after the incident,” said Kuhar.

Ruling out conversion and religious association of the SPO with the crime, Kuhar said in official police record the SPO has not changed his religion. “What kind of people he associated with has no connection with the case,” said Kuhar, adding that SPO was have matrimonial problem and he was having issue of short temper.
