Quota, jobs and confirmation, all in state govt depts
Porvorim: Youths aspiring for govt jobs will get some relief from the budget, as CM Pramod Sawant announced 2,500 govt jobs in different departments. He also announced regularisation of all contractual employees who worked in govt for 10 years, and reservations for orphaned children in govt jobs and educational institutions.
In the first year, at least 950 contractual employees are expected to be regularised in govt service.
Sawant said govt constituted the Goa Staff Selection Commission and recruited govt employees on merit. The commission recruited 2,500 people to be employed in different govt jobs, and 1,100 job advertisements were issued for govt departments.
“We will recruit another 2,500 people for govt jobs,” Sawant said and added that there are as many as 10,000 contractual employees working in different department in the state.
Sawant said there will be reservations for employees of the Goa Human Resource Development Corporation (GHRDC) in various entry-level govt jobs, an increase in their remuneration, and confirmation in service. He also announced the setting up of a cell to offer training to youths, upskill them, and provide them jobs in international companies by tying up with such entities.
The CM said the employment subsidy scheme for GHRDC employees will provide gap funding for three years to those employed in private institutions through the corporation.
He announced an easy exit policy for Chief Minister Rojgar Yojana beneficiaries. To turn the employment exchange into a model career centre, Sawant announced that state govt will strengthen it to make it an employment facilitation hub.
He said that youths can register themselves online through a centralised portal to receive notifications of the jobs available in the private sector. At the same time, companies can also advertise their vacancies so that unemployed youths can apply for the posts, he said.
