Patnem locals want inspection of road leading to mega project

Canacona: Demanding a joint inspection of the road leading to a mega project at Patnem in Canacona, Residents of Patnem-Colomb accompanied by their councillor Shubham Komarpant met the deputy collector Prataprao Naik Gaonkar on Friday and handed over a memorandum to him.The residents have alleged that a mega project has been passed in their area based on the controversial certification of the width of an existing road leading to the project. They demanded a joint inspection by officials of the TCP department and the PWD with locals.A resident, Anil Faldesai brought to the attention of the deputy collector that their demands have been given a Nelson's eye by the authorities concerned. Another resident Vaibhav Faldesai warned that if there is no justice, the locals shouldn't be held responsible if law and order situation arises.Deputy collector has assured that he will look into the issue at the earliest.
