Maha tourist held for assault of rent-a-bike operator
Mapusa: Anjuna police have arrested a 30-year-old tourist from Yavatmal, Maharashtra, for allegedly assaulting a local rent-a-bike operator following a dispute over a delayed vehicle return.The accused, Amit Deepak Kale, had rented a scooter from the complainant, Gurudas Divkar, with an agreement to return it by 9am on Thursday. However, when Kale arrived at 10.20am, a verbal spat ensued over the delay. The confrontation turned violent when the suspect allegedly attacked Divkar using a helmet and a hammer, causing a serious fracture to his left hand.

Nearby business owners intervened to rescue Divkar, who is currently undergoing treatment. Acting on the complaint, Anjuna police registered an FIR and took Kale into custody. Police are further investigating the case.
