Telangana witnessed monsoon fury in early hours of Thursday with two districts recording over 60cm rainfall. The extremely heavy rainfall occured in Venkatapur mandal of Mulugu and Chityal mandal of Bhupalpally clocking 64cm and 61cm of rain in last 24 hour span respectively. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for nine of the 33 districts in the state on account of relentless rains and swollen river bodies all across East and Central Telangana.

Heavy rain continued to batter most districts in Karnataka on Tuesday, with three deaths reported from across the state during the day and key reservoirs receiving heavy inflows. The state has so far seen seven deaths in a week.With the Met department sounding a red alert in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada districts for Wednesday too, water level in the rivers in the region is already flowing close to the danger mark.

With two substations submerged in Ghaziabad, several residential colonies reported outages spanning 5-20 hours.
While children were getting ready for school, there was no communication from the school about the rain holiday. However, the school administration and the entire department woke up when the children reached the school. According to parents, some children were standing at the gate to catch the school bus, while some had already reached the school when messages started coming through on their phones. The students later returned to their homes after the school closure anouncement.
Gautam Buddh Nagar district administration announced that all schools up to class 12 in Noida and Greater Noida will remain closed on Wednesday due to heavy rainfall and waterlogging.Parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) received heavy rainfall this morning, leading to waterlogging in several areas.
