NOIDA: Gautam Buddh Nagar district administration announced that all schools up to class 12 in Noida and Greater Noida will remain closed on Wednesday due to heavy rainfall and waterlogging.
Parts of
Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) received heavy rainfall this morning, leading to waterlogging in several areas.
"Due to rains and waterlogging, district magistrate Manish Kumar Verma has ordered closure of all schools up to class 12 for today," district inspector of schools Dharmveer Singh said.
Many kids reached schools unaware of the rain holiday in Noida, Ghaziabad
While children were getting ready for their school, there was no communication from the school about the rain holiday. However, the school administration and the entire department woke up when the children reached the school. As per parents, some children were standing at the gate to catch the school bus while some had already reached the school when messages started appearing on their phones: "In view of the rain and waterlogging in Gautam Budh Nagar, on the directions of District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma, all schools from Class 1 to Class 12 in the district will remain closed today." Similar messages were received from parents in Ghaziabad.
