Old footbridge collapses in Delhi’s Roop Nagar; 1 dead

NEW DELHI: A woman died after falling into a drain when an old iron footbridge collapsed in Block 3 near Mother Dairy in north Delhi's Roop Nagar, police said.

Police and fire department officials have been deployed at the spot.

The video of the incident shows that the bridge had collapsed into a drain, leaving a large section submerged and difficult to access.

Rescue teams can be seen working under challenging conditions, using ropes to carefully descend into the drain in an attempt to reach those trapped or injured.
