New Delhi: Five drug traffickers, including two from Nepal, have been arrested.
A total of 15.67 kg of charas worth Rs 3 crore was seized from them. The accused were operating a syndicate across Nepal, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi-NCR.
The operation began on Nov 20 when police got a tip-off about a Nepali national supplying charas in Majnu Ka Tila. "A raid at a hotel led to the arrest of Prem Thapa and local trafficker Mohammad Jameel," said DCP (crime branch) Bhisham Singh. "1.19 kg of charas was found," he said.
Their interrogation led to the arrest of Ganga Gurung Thapa, another Nepali national with 712 grams of charas. 13.76 kg was in her house. Ankit Budha, of Kasol and the primary supplier, was held, as was Haryana's Pradeep Kumar.
