India is facing an acute shortage of Remdesivir, an injectable anti-viral drug, in the wake of the spiralling Covid-19 cases. The Centre has banned its export, states are sending special flights to get it from the manufacturers, and there have been protests against the shortage. But how crucial is the drug really? Dr Neeraj Nischal, additional professor, internal medicine at AIIMS, explains to Durgesh Nandan Jha.
