'Delhi Chalo' march suspended after tear gas injuries, farmers to resume tread on December 8
Police arrested 77 farmers on Wednesday during a protest over land acquisition compensation. The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) has called for another march to Delhi on Friday via the Yamuna and Noida-Greater Noida expressways, with farmers demanding higher compensation and residential plots for their acquired land. Meanwhile, farmer groups protesting at the Shambhu border of Punjab and Haryana since February announced on Thursday that 101 activists are set to either march to Delhi or surrender to Haryana Police on Friday. The protest aims to push for a legal guarantee on minimum support prices (MSP) for their produce. Stay with TOI for more updates:
