BJP to tie up with influencers to reach more people

NEW DELHI: BJP has decided to collaborate with influencers from different fields to spread the party’s key messages widely. The party is also identifying influential figures at the national and local levels to share their vision and policies.

A senior BJP official highlighted the role of local influencers, such as YouTubers, temple priests, RWA members and teachers, in conveying the party’s messages within their communities.

BJP also plans to establish a warroom to address fake news targeting the party. It will take steps to prevent the spread of old or manipulated videos that could harm the party’s image, said a functionary.

“BJP is focusing its campaign on field visits, live footage and direct feedback rather than just using pre-recorded content on social media,” said the functionary. “The party is also building a network of social media volunteers up to the mandal level and creating WhatsApp groups up till the booth level to make its online campaign more localised and effective,” he added.

“We will go for more interactive and grassroots-level campaigning. By engaging with influencers and prominent local people, the party seeks to create a more personal and direct connection with voters,” he said.

Delhi is going to elect its seven MPs on May 25 during the sixth phase of the polling in the 2024 general elections. BJP, which had won all seven seats in the last two terms, has changed all its candidates barring North East Delhi MP Tiwari. AAP and Congress have a seat-sharing agreement this time as part of the opposition INDIA bloc. While AAP is contesting in four seats — New Delhi, South Delhi, West Delhi and East Delhi, Congress has fielded candidates at Chandni Chowk, North East and North West Delhi.
