Haridwar: A 23-year-old man was arrested from UP's Mathura on Wednesday in connection with the murder of a 15-year-old boy in Haridwar's Kankhal area last week.
The case came to light after the body of Kunal Kumar, a daily wager, was found in the bushes near Shri Yantra temple in Kankhal last Saturday. Police said the incident took place on Friday when Kunal and his close friend Arvind Sharma were drinking near the temple.

"Kunal allegedly made an obscene comment on the character of Arvind's minor sister, over which the two had an altercation. Arvind then crushed Kunal's head with a stone and fled to Mathura," SSP Pramendra Dobal told TOI.
CCTV footage confirmed that Arvind had killed Kunal, said SSP Dobal. "Arvind, originally from Mathura, had been living with his maternal grandparents in Kankhal after his mother had drowned in the Ganga six months ago. A case was registered under section 103 (1) (murder) of BNS against Arvind."
