NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte signaled openness to renewed diplomatic efforts with Moscow, saying any initiative that could help end the war faster should be encouraged. Speaking in Brussels, Rutte addressed questions about President Emmanuel Macron’s outreach to Russia, noting that every ally is free to pursue dialogue while maintaining full coordination with the United States and European partners. He stressed transparency in French contacts and underscored that U.S. leadership remains vital. The remarks come as Paris confirms technical talks and the Kremlin acknowledges real contacts.
