Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday inaugurated four
development projects worth Rs 54 crore on the occasion of self-governance day here.
He opened a cremation centre, which has a CNG-run furnace at Khannagar. It was built by GAIL India in collaboration with Cuttack Municipal Corporation. “problem of cremation will ease in Cuttack and the furnace is a boon for the environment,” said Dharmendra.
A gigantic statue of Buxi Jagbandhu was unveiled in Buxi Bazar. The status of the freedom fighter after whom the market has been named will continue to be a symbol of heroism for the Odia people.
The much-awaited, ‘Netaji Memorial Institute’ was inaugurated in Dargha Bazar near Netaji’s birthplace. It will preserve the thoughts and ideals of the great hero Subhas Chandra Bose for ages. It will have a study centre, open theatre and green lawn for visitors. “The hero of independence struggle and son of the soil will always be an inspiration for the coming generation,” said Dharmendra.
A state-of-the- art,‘Cuttack Art Gallery’, was opened at Cuttack Town Hall. The gallery will showcase the rich art, culture, architecture and will create an Odisha’s unique identity.
