Start work on Batlapalli flyover: Residents
Krishnagiri: Locals have urged officials to take steps to start construction of a flyover at Batlapalli near Hosur, the tender of which was awarded to a private company more than a year ago. Work is yet to start on the Rs 37.90crore flyover project.Residents said a Rs 50crore suburban bus stand is close to completion at Batlapalli. The bus stand is being constructed as the one in Hosur town is congested. Residents say once the new Batlapalli bus stand is opened, there will be huge traffic blocks on the Batlapalli-Hosur Road. But the proposed flyover would ease traffic.Officials are planning to divert vehicles to a newly built service road once work on the Batlapalli flyover begins. But the service road is incomplete. “The service road is narrow and congested. If all vehicles are pushed there, we’ll be stuck for hours. So, officials should find an alternative route,” said Kavitha, a bus passenger.
