Six injured as tourist van hits roadside tree, overturns in Salem
Salem: A group of six employees of a private bank escaped with minor injuries after the tourist van in which they were travelling hit a roadside tree and overturned near a 60-foot bridge on the Yercaud ghat road on Saturday night. The accident occurred around 11.30pm when the employees were returning to Sankari in Salem district after visiting tourist spots in Yercaud. Karthik, 29, of Kumarapalayam in Namakkal district, was at the wheel. Neighbours and passers-by rescued the injured and admitted them to the Salem Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College and Hospital for treatment. Yercaud police have registered a case.
