COIMBATORE: Drones, cigarettes and microphones were seized from five passengers who arrived at Coimbatore International Airport on Monday morning. The seized items were worth Rs 37.09 lakh.
On Monday morning, the Central Industrial Security Force and the air customs unit at the airport were conducting their regular checks. The officers checked the bags of passengers of an Air Arabia flight which arrived here from Sharjah.
They found 10 DJI - AIR 3s drones, 36 microphones and 856 cigarettes in five passengers' bags.
The passengers were identified as Abdul Raheem of Tiruvarur, Syed Sirajudeen of Tuticorin, Jainulabdeen and Muhammed Afsal of Sivagangai and Muhammed Sidhik of Trichy.
The officers seized the contraband from the passengers and registered a case against them.
