Delhi bomb scare: Several schools, including DPS Dwarka, receive threat calls; search operations underway

This incident follows a similar situation on July 18, where over 20 schools in Delhi, including Abhinav Public School and Richmondd Global School, received bomb threats via email, prompting evacuations and extensive search operations by authorities.

NEW DELHI: Several schools in New Delhi received bomb threats via email early Monday, prompting immediate evacuations and police response. Delhi Public School Dwarka, Modern Convent School, and ShreeRam World School in Sector 10, Dwarka were among the institutions that received the threats.

Police and bomb disposal teams were quickly dispatched to conduct thorough searches of the school premises. While previous bomb threats had been hoaxes, security agencies are taking today's threats seriously and following all necessary protocols.Earlier in July, similar bomb threats were reported at multiple educational institutions including Richmond Global School in Paschim Vihar, Sovereign School in Rohini Sector 24, Modern International School in Dwarka Sector 19, and Heritage School in Rohini Sector 23.Richmondd Global School Principal Moupali Mitra detailed their response to the threat."We are keeping an eye on every kind of message. We received the mail threat at 10.52am and mailed the Commissioner of Police at 10.58am. Immediately, the bomb squad and other teams arrived along with the Cyber department... We cross-checked every corner of the school, and it is absolutely safe... We are taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the children...
Some anti-social people are spreading such rumours, and we all must stand against them... The school is functioning normally," Mitra said.The threats extended beyond schools to higher education institutions as well. Three Delhi University colleges - IP College for Women, Hindu College, and Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) - also received bomb threats via email in July.The Fire Department and Delhi Police personnel were deployed at all affected institutions as part of the emergency response.After thorough searches of the premises by bomb disposal squads, no explosives were found at any of the locations.Authorities continue to monitor the situation while maintaining normal operations at the affected institutions.(With agency inputs)
