Two-wheeler collision in Chengalpet; two killed

Chennai: Two youths were killed and another sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision between two two-wheelers near Madurantakam in Chengalpet district.Police said Premkumar, 25, was riding a two-wheeler along with his friend Vignesh, 24, on the Madurantakam–Koovathur road on Saturday night. Divakar, 23, was coming from the opposite direction on another two-wheeler. The two bikes collided head-on at a stretch near Melakandai. Premkumar and Divakar sustained severe injuries and died on the spot, while Vignesh was critically injured.Police rushed to the scene and sent Vignesh to Chengalpet govt hospital for treatment. The bodies of the deceased were recovered and sent to Madurantakam govt hospital for postmortem. Police registered a case, and further investigation is under way.
