Chennai: Three youngsters surrendered at the Pudur Police Station after they hacked a 21-year-old man in full public view in Ambattur on Thursday morning. The suspects, identified as Periyasami, 21, Bharat, 21, and Santhosh, 19, were arrested.
Police said the victim, Iliyah Samuel, was chased down by the three youths near his residence and attacked with sharp weapons. He sustained multiple cut injuries on his head, face, and neck.

Locals rushed Samuel to the govt hospital in Periyar Nagar for treatment. He was later referred to the Rajiv Gandhi government general hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
Police said the attack was triggered by a quarrel between the trio and Samuel the previous night while they were playing carrom. After the attack, the three accused surrendered at the Pudur Police Station. They were arrested on charges of attempted murder.
