Three arrested with 700g of ganja in Valasaravakkam
Chennai: Three men, including a district-level AIADMK youth wing functionary, were arrested on Wednesday night for possession of 700g of ‘OG' ganja in Valasaravakkam. The arrests were carried out by a team from the anti-narcotics intelligence unit (ANIU) special task unit following a targeted raid in the western suburbs of the city. The operation, led by inspector Johnny Chellapa, began in the early hours of Wednesday at a residence in Madanandapuram near Porur. Officers apprehended K Sunil, 21, and seized the bulk of the contraband from his possession. Sunil is a second-year BCA student at an arts and science college in Porur and serves as the deputy secretary of AIADMK Tiruvallur district youth wing. Investigation led to P Varun Prasath, 23, of Kovur, and J Vishvesh, 22, of Iyyappanthangal, on Arcot Road in Valasaravakkam. Four grams of narcotics were seized from them. In addition to the 700g of high-grade ganja, the police confiscated mobile phones and high-end motorcycles used for delivery.
