Miscreants steal power fuses, cause power outage in Avadi
Chennai: TNPDCL has lodged a police complaint saying bike-borne individuals had been stealing power fuses from electricity distribution pillar boxes, leading to power outage in Avadi area.
Residents of Kamaraj Nagar and TNHB quarters in Avadi have been complaining of power outages for the past one week, and the local discom personnel had noticed power fuses disappearing from pillar boxes in the area.
On Monday, when a power cut was reported in Avadi again, assistant engineer and others rushed to the spot and checked CCTV footage from a nearby residence. They found a bike-borne duo escaping with the power fuses. CCTV footage retrieved from last week confirmed that the same two individuals had been them. A formal complaint has been lodged with Avadi and an FIR has been registered.
