Chennai delivery man assaults security guard, held

Chennai: A 25-year-old delivery executive, Dinesh, was arrested on Tuesday for attempting to murder a security guard following a dispute over entry protocols at an apartment complex in KK Nagar. The incident occurred on Tuesday when Velmurugan, 47, a security guard from Nesappakkam, was on duty. Dinesh attempted to enter the premises on his scooter without providing identification or destination details. When Velmurugan questioned him, an argument ensued. Enraged, Dinesh accelerated his vehicle and rammed it into the guard and assaulted him. Velmurugan fell and hurt his head. He was rushed to a private hospital and shifted to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital. He has not regained consciousness yet.
