Chennai: Three weeks after a college student was injured in a fall from a ride at an amusement park in Injambakkam, Neelankarai police arrested two ride operators on Wednesday.
Police said Zafrin Fathima, 21, a third-year BCom student of KPC College in Broadway, visited the amusement park during a college trip on Feb 6. She and a few other students boarded the ‘Rock and Roll' ride around 11:45am.

According to the complaint, before she could fasten her seat belt, the operator started the machine, causing her to fall from the ride. She sustained injuries to her spinal region.
Zafrin was initially given first aid at a private hospital in Injambakkam and later shifted to a hospital in Tondiarpet for further treatment. A complaint was registered at Neelankarai police station on Feb 7. On Wednesday, they arrested Sylvester Purty, 19, and Arunodoy Gowala, 22, both from Assam, working as ride operators.
