CHANDIGARH: A man in his early 20s, who had been preparing for competitive exams, was stabbed to death by unidentified persons at Jaani Chor Ki Bawri in Mehem city of Rohtak on Saturday morning.
The victim has been identified as Aniket Vats of Bhaini Surjan village of Mehem. He left home to attend classes in Mehem. His body was found near the Bawri.
Police have handed over the body to the family after post-mortem examination. Acting on the statement of Aniket's kin who had suspected role of their neighbour in the incident, police have registered a murder case at Mehem police station.

Prithvi Singh said that police parties are conducting raids to arrest the accused. Preliminary investigations revealed that Aniket’s body had eight injury marks allegedly inflicted by sharp-edged weapon.
His neck had two deep stab injuries. "This is too early to conclude the reason behind the murder as how the victim reached there. Our crime teams and police parties are on the job and are linking everything. Once we link as how he reached Bawri, we shall easily crack the case. We are also questioning those who had last seen him or spoke to him," said DSP.
Sources informed that the cops have picked up few persons known to Aniket for the preliminary questioning.
