Woman found buried in sack at Sonipat construction site; husband missing
Sonipat: A woman was allegedly murdered, her body stuffed in a sack, and then buried at a construction site in Sonipat's Gohana town, with police discovering the crime after an anonymous call and a late-night search on Sunday. The body of Priyanka alias Seema, a resident of Gohana's Forest Departmen Lane, was found beneath the foundation of the under-construction building. Her husband, Sandeep, has been untraceable, said police. The couple, said Gohana City police station SHO Devender Kumar, worked as rag-pickers. The SHO said the call regarding the body was made around 11.10pm, after which police started carrying out the search of the under-construction site near New Vegetable Market. They eventually found a sack buried under the foundation. When they brought it out and untied it, they found the woman's body inside. The SHO said the victim was possibly murdered elsewhere. The postmortem will be conducted at Gohana civil hospital. The SHO said they suspected marital discord to be behind the killing, as the husband is untraceable. "We still investigating the case from all angles. The forensics have collected evidence. Also, teams are on the lookout for her husband," added the SHO.
